I was sad to see the giant pot still gone, but I’m happy to see the yellow submarine here. I kept the Mundell truck here because I wanted to pay my respect to Johnnie Mundell (whisky Brand Ambassador) and his family. This lorry belongs to his cousin; it’s a family business, where they transport stuff.

The reoccurring theme on the island (and in Scotland in general) is that people take pride in their work. I want people to be remembered and feel proud that they’re from Scotland—that they matter, even beyond the whisky world. As in introvert I enjoy listening to the locals and hearing their voice—their views on life, politics and dreams. Some of the people I’ve met along the way feel like underdogs and they’ve no hope, and my desire is to be their champion and find a way to funnel money back into the country.

I also have great memories of being here at Bruichladdich. I think the staff is really nice and personable. They are so passionate about their job. One time I brought my homemade Bruichladdich dress to distillery. A woman at the shop was on her lunch break and she was so touched by it that she went all over the distillery to get my dress signed! (Yeh, I don’t get my bottles signed because I prefer drinking them).
Anyhoot, I just hope one day I can make money, so I can help people out. And I also want to treat myself to a prime-rib bone in steak from time to time, too.
