Kingsbarns Distillery is located in Fife, Scotland. It was founded by Doug Clement, a super fun human being, who was a caddy that had the vision of creating a distillery in Fife. He brings a lot of enthusiasm in his work. I really am a big fan of him. He no longer owns this distillery, but he represents this brand to me. I drew an image of The Defender because it represents my brief moment with him in Scotland last year. He woke up early in the morning and picked me up in his car and we drove over to St. Andrews Golf Course, the oldest and probably the most elite golf course in the world. Since I'm not a golfer, I wasn't privy to its status, but I later learned from others that it is a very special place, where people wait for over year to play there. At any rate, the golf clubs are significant because it represents Doug. When he was caddying at Kingsbarns Golf Links, he looked from a distance and realized there was a gap in the whisky market for that region. He wanted a destination place for people to golf and visit a distillery. He is one of the nicest people I've met. I appreciate his kindness and fun spirit. He is a true inspiration to me. I learned from him that if you've an idea and you want to turn it into a reality it IS possible; you just need to find a good team of people who can play well to their strengths.
